Welding cable spool; confirm the gauge and selected color in the product listing

#1 vs. 1/0 Welding Cable: Ordering the Right 500 ft Spool

#1 AWG and 1/0 AWG are different cable sizes. When you order welding cable, match the gauge on your equipment requirements to the product title, selected option, and SKU. A similar-looking cable photograph is not enough to identify the right spool.

USA Welding Supply lists both #1 AWG cable on a 500 ft spool and 1/0 AWG cable on a 500 ft spool. Here is how to compare the listings and place an accurate order online.

Compare the listings before you choose

Options and stock can change. Open the product page and select the required color to confirm the current price and availability. Different colors can have different prices.

One spool is not one foot

For these 500 ft listings, cart quantity 1 means one complete 500 ft spool. Cart quantity 2 means two spools totaling 1,000 ft. Do not enter the footage you need into the cart quantity box unless the specific product is explicitly sold by the foot.

Before buying a spool to make multiple leads, list the planned cut lengths and include the allowance your assembly process needs. For example, ten nominal 50 ft cuts consume all 500 ft before any trimming allowance. Confirm the length needed for both sides of the welding circuit using the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

Match the cable to the application

Use the welding equipment and cable manufacturers' requirements for the gauge, current, duty cycle, total circuit length, installation, and connectors. This ordering guide is not an ampacity table and does not establish an electrical rating for either listing. Cable color does not determine gauge or current capacity.

These spool listings do not include connectors, electrode holders, work clamps, lugs, or terminals unless the product description expressly says otherwise. Check those components separately before planning a complete lead assembly.

A practical ordering check

Before payment, verify the gauge, selected color, SKU, spool length, and number of spools in your cart. Review the shipping charge and applicable taxes at checkout. For multiple spools or a bulk quotation, send the required gauges, colors, quantities, and destination ZIP code. Mention whether delivery is to a residence or business and ask about any special delivery arrangements.
